The IRS card acceptance program has expanded to include quarterly estimated payments (Form
1040-ES), and balance due payments for taxpayers filing for an extension to file (Form
4868). Taxpayers making quarterly estimated payments are now able to make these payments
year-round. Taxpayers filing for an extension can make card payment for anticipated taxes
through April 16, 2001 and submit paperwork at a later date.
